Formal Bridal Portraits

The Bridal Portraits are formal portraits of the bride in her wedding dress, usually done a couple of weeks before the wedding. This is a chance for the bride to take formal portraits by herself in a less stressful day than the wedding. Because it is a more relaxed photo shoot, there is more time to get more dramatic and unconventional poses in beautiful locations. The wedding couple can also choose to do Engagement Portraits in addition to, or instead of, the Bridal Portraits.

The Bridal Portrait can be done indoors or outdoors, in various locations such as gardens, parks, lakes, beaches, homes, etc. You can choose a favorite location or we can suggest a location for you.

The Bridal Portrait can be used in newspaper engagement announcements and wedding invitations. The Bridal Portrait can also be shown on the wedding day itself and will also be a prominent part of your wedding album. If you wish to use the bridal portrait in your invitations, make sure to do it a couple of weeks before you wish to send out the announcements to allow for editing and printing.

The Bridal Portrait can also serve as a trial run for the bride's hair and makeup and the fit of the dress. Hair and makeup salons usually will do free trials in preparation for the big day, so you can try out your whole hair and makeup before the wedding. This is the first time that the bride wears the wedding gown for a long period of time so it is a good chance to test the whole outfit.

The wedding dress has to be pressed and cleaned before the Bridal Portrait for best results. Make sure to also leave enough time AFTER the bridal portrait shoot to press and clean the wedding dress again for your wedding day.

Bring also a floral bouquet, preferably in the same color as the bouquet that you are going to use on your wedding day, or at least in a color that would complement your color motif. It does not have to be exactly the same as your bouquet on your wedding day.
